Homemade Waffles with Strawberries



  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 2 cups strawberries, cut small
  • 1/4 cup confectioners sugar
  • Pre-heat waffle iron to its hottest setting.
  • Pre-heat oven to 200°F.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Beat eggs thoroughly. Whisk in milk and oil.
  • Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients and whisk gently until combined.
  • Ladle 1/2 cup batter on the iron and close it.
  • Cook until the waffle irons indicator light shows that cooking is complete, or until no more steam comes out.
  • Lift the waffle out of the iron with tongs and transfer it to the oven to keep warm until all waffles are made.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat cream and sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Fill waffles with whipped cream and strawberries, and dust with confectioners sugar to serve.
