Kraft Monster : Nutella Biscotti

Nutella Biscotti

Serves: 36
  • 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp baking cocoa
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 3 large eggs (or 1 whole egg and 3 egg whites for lower fat/cholesterol)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup nutella
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup hazelnuts, chopped
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Sift the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Using an electric mixer, beat eggs in a large bowl until frothy.
  4. Add sugar and continue beating on high speed for 2 minutes.
  5. Beat in nutella.
  6. Add flour mixture to the egg mixture and stir until just combined.
  7. Stir in chocolate chips and hazelnuts.
  8. Divide dough into 2 or 3 logs with floured hands and arrange on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  9. Shape into rectangles roughly 1/2 inch thick.
  10. Use wet hands for easier shaping.
  11. Bake at 350 deg F for 20 minutes.
  12. Remove logs from oven.
  13. Turn down the oven to 300 deg F.
  14. Using a serrated knife, cut logs into 1/2 inch slices.
  15. Place the logs flat side down on the baking sheet and put it back in the oven.
  16. Bake for 10-12 mins and turn the biscotti over and bake an additional 10-12 minutes (depending on the thickness of the slices).
  17. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
  18. Store in an air tight container.
